Amazon becomes the US biggest electronics retailer in the market

eCommerce Giant posted a record-high net sales increased 14% into US$170 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023. On Feb 1st 2024, Amazon delivered its highest operating income ever, as it released its quarterly and full-year earnings.
Moreover, last year, Amazon’s share of online sales of computer and consumer electronics has reached near 50% in US online market. We expect Amazon’s category sales to surpass US$88 billion this year, which is more than twice Apple’s forecasted retail ecommerce sales (US$41.60 billion) and over five times greater than the US biggest electronics retailer, Best Buy’s (US$15.68 billion).
Now, Amazon has become the most massive consumer electronics retailer in US, and it has made significant investments in branded electronics like Echos, Kindles, and Fire TV devices.
Those investments Jassy mentioned are paying big dividends. By the numbers, net sales increased 14% to $170 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to $149.2 billion a year prior.
