Overstock
Overstock is a great place to buy and sell your stuff. Overstock.com caters to middle-aged, female consumers and provides comprehensive buying details and feedback about every user on the site.
Overstock.com was founded in May 5, 1997 by Robert Brazell. The company went bankrupt in 1999. Patrick M. Byrne and Jason Lindsey acquired the company and renamed it as Overstock.com. The company initially sold exclusively surplus and returned merchandise on an online e-commerce marketplace, liquidating the inventories of at least 18 failed dot-com companies at below-wholesale prices.
In June 2023, the company won a $21.5 million bid for Bed Bath & Beyond's intellectual property assets. On June 29, it was announced that Overstock.com would be rebranding as Bed Bath & Beyond; the name was changed on August 1, two days after the original Bed Bath & Beyond closed its last stores. On October 24, 2023, it was announced that the company would rebrand as Beyond, Inc. effective November 6, 2023. The same day, the company switched its stock listing to the New York Stock Exchange under its new name.
Overstock.com is a tech-driven, online retail marketplace that grew into a billion-dollar company in less than a decade. According to their website, their goal is to provide their customers with great value when it comes to high-quality merchandise, and they've been recognized as one of Forbes Magazine's 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America.
Overstock's product categories currently include the following:
Home
Bed and bath
Jewelry and watches
Electronics and media
Health and beauty
Apparel
Liquidations
Sports, hobbies, and toys
Overstock does charge a selling fee, which we will discuss momentarily, but they do have millions of consumers visiting their site each month. Lots of consumer traffic means that your brand and products could potentially see a significant increase in traction and sales.
